These next couple of months are going to be very trying for all of us.  Coming at a time where we are entering Spring, may be the one saviour for us all here in the UK.  We can walk, cycle, run, and enjoy the sunshine and beauty.
I am aware though, that these options are not suitable for all of you.  Maybe your health or current injury restricts you from taking an hour’s outdoor exercise once a day.  Maybe you don’t live in an area of natural beauty, you don’t feel comfortable or safe following one of the hundreds of online programs out there, or are so overwhelmed that you don’t know what would be right for you.  Maybe you are isolated and miss the social aspect of your regular lives.
With the Studio on lockdown, Millie wants to spend her time helping you guys however she can; those who are unsure or nervous of how to exercise in a safe way for your needs.
Millie has been helping people like you on a one-to-one basis in fitness and Pilates for over 20 years, and wants to reach out to you.
Sessions will be virtual (of course), but as personal and prescriptive as if you were in the studio environment.
These are being offered at a significant discount,  to help you overcome your exercise fears through these challenging months ahead.

3 Years in Halesworth

Three years ago I decided to move my two Pilates Reformers into a larger space in The Cut and expand into a fully equipped Pilates Studio.

Today the studio is open 6 days a week with monthly Sunday workshops with close to 100 regular members, many attending classes 2 or 3 times a week.

In such a quiet and rural area, with little footfall, I am so proud of the community the Studio has created in Halesworth.

Offering the local community quality Pilates classes in a caring and supportive environment has been my goal since the beginning.  Keeping all class sizes between 4-6 people enables all of our team to supervise closely, ensuring all members work towards real and accountable progress.

With a varied timetable of complimentary classes with a strong Pilates base and an online booking system to suit your schedule, a full and rounded exercise week can be achieved by all our members, whatever you age, goals and time restraints.

Last year we rebranded to Pilates Studio Suffolk and brought in our wonderful and highly experienced teachers Emma Hodson and Rich Woodall, taking regular Matwork and Yoga classes and recently Louise to run Sunday aerial yoga workshops which has been a popular addition to the studio.


Aerial Pilates for Muscular Back Pain

The Aerial swing is so versatile and so safe to use that it provides an ideal exercise for treating a multitude of pain issues throughout the body.

Most back pain is musculoskeletal and a result of daily living, poor posture and weak muscles….

This workshop is for those of you struggling with daily or recurring back pain. We will use the decompression spine elements of the swing along with releases, stretches and specific back strengthening work to elongate, mobilise, stretch and strengthen all the back muscles….

We’re rebranding…

New Year…New Name

From Jan 4th 2019 you will see a new logo for Pilates Studios Suffolk.  Don’t worry; it’s still us
I am not removing my service but separating my name to allow for other teachers and classes to step in and provide even more of the studio work I’ve been building over the last 2.5 years.
The same small group and client care you’ve grown accustomed to, will continue as always.

Rehab Sports Injury Pilates with Mogul Skier Leonie Gerken Schofield

Leonie Gerken Schofield is a medal-winning mogul skier winning the Europa Cup twice, once in 2013 and once in 2017 with many medal winning awards in between.

She started skiing at the age of five but her career has been troubled with many injuries including two knee operations, a dislocated shoulder and most recently (in April) she broke one of her vertebrae and has been going through rehabilitation to get back to the skiing squad ever since.

Leonie came to me after suffering the spinal fracture and had spent 3 months in a back brace.  With poor trunk stability, mild scoliosis as a result of the brace and a couple of months to get back up to speed, Pilates rehab work was the perfect choice.   

Unlike other forms of rehabilitation exercise, reformer Pilates doesn’t require rest days in between, you can see the benefits of the work you put in in just a few weeks. The more work you put in the more you get out of it. 

Leonie was a model client working hard in her sessions with me and doing all I required her to do outside the studio.

I am so excited to be able to share with you this fantastic opportunity coming up in August.  I have joined forces with Mike McKone and Marina Thomas of Sicily Active Holidays to bring you a week of not only relaxation, enjoyment of the the stunning views of Sicily that overlook the slopes of Mount Etna, yoga and mindfulness but Pilates with me as well.

This holiday will be from 25th August – 1st Septemeber

It’s only £1195 per person, and if you consider that that includes your fresh, local food & wine for the week, your luxury accommodation, daily Yoga, Pilates & Meditation, and on top of that use of the tennis courts and sauna, it’s really is a fantastic deal.

There is a maximum capacity of 16 people so it really will feel like a lovely, friendly, fun and relaxing get away.

Flights and transfers aren’t included, however, but we can arrange transfers for you upon request.

Becky Joins The Team

Becky Kettlercise

I am so delighted to welcome Becky Belshaw to the Studio as a newly qualified Kettlercise Instructor, set to take my Friday morning 10am class. Becky is a real ray of sunshine in the Studio as a client and I am confident that you will all love having her lead you in her new role as an instructor.

I asked Becky to give us a little insight into what made her decide to take up this new role and what she hopes to bring to the Studio, and you, our clients.

‘I’ve been going to Millie’s Kettlercise classes at the studio for over 2 years now, they’re such a fun way to get/keep fit while toning up and strengthening the body. I always feel so at home in Millie’s classes and love her ethos of smaller group training.

My little girl started school last year and I found myself in a position where I had a little more time to focus on myself and what I actually wanted to do with my career. My passion for fitness had grown since having my daughter and I decided that perhaps this was the time to make the jump and pursue becoming a trainer myself.

Becky Kettlercise

Millie has such a passion for her job, her knowledge is incredible so you always feel in safe hands and she always pushes you hard to be your best. The groups are small so you are never overlooked and there are no overwhelming, crowded classes. Kettlercise is something I’ve really come to love and I look forward to every class. It’s my stress-relief and my happy place. The class formats regularly change so there’s never a chance to get bored. It works your whole body, and because it’s cardio it’s brilliant for weight loss and just a general happy buzz.

I am so excited to use my energy and love for Kettlercise to help other people to find their own confidence and happiness through fitness, making it as fun and energetic as possible. I’m all about feeling good and laughing while you’re looking after your body. Looking good is just a nice side effect if you keep up the hard work.
